Vegan Cheesy Broccoli Stromboli

Vegan Stromboli Sandwich is a simple meal that everyone will love. Made with Pizza dough, vegan cheese, broccoli, and marinara sauce. It is so versatile. You can feel it with any toppings that you want.


Olive oil

1/2 cup onion (diced)

2 garlic cloves (minced)

6 cups broccoli florets (cut into small florets)

1/2 cup water

salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup basil (finely chopped)

12 oz can pizza dough (store-bought or you could make your own)

3 cups non-dairy cheddar cheese (shredded)

24 oz jar marinara sauce


  • Preheat oven 400 degrees F. Brush 1 tablespoon of olive oil on a baking sheet. Set aside.

  • Over medium-high, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet.

  • Add onions and saute for about 3 minutes. Add garlic saute for about 1 minute. Add broccoli, water, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover with lid and steam broccoli for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove lid and stir until all water is evaporated.

  • Transfer broccoli mixture to a bowl, and add basil. Set aside

  • Roll out dough onto prepared cookie sheet. Sprinkle 1/2 of cheese over the dough, layer the broccoli mixture over the cheese, and sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the broccoli.

  • Fold the short edges of the dough over the filling. Roll into a log. Brush the top of the dough with olive oil. With a knife, make 5 slits evenly over the top of the dough.

  • Bake in oven 25 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Serve warm with marinara sauce.
